Welcome to the

Rivington, Angelzarke, County Park,Web Site.

My name is David A. Owen and I lived in Rivington Village for a number of years.
I have also written a number of publications relating to the village life it's dwellings, boundaries, watercourses and my experiences during the 1939- 1945 War years.

The Pages have been designed to to cover the various aspects of the Rivington Park and Anglezarke areas relating to the People, their Dwellings, Churches and Schools.
It is not intended to be a comprehensive HISTORY SITE.

I also decided I would like to share the information I had researched over many years, which includes lists of Rivington Church Baptism, Marriages and Graveyard Burial records
from 1639 to 1874.

(Church Records are no longer available on CD/DVD).

Please select the link below to go to the required records:

Thanks are due to the Library Staffs of;
Bolton,Chorley, Horwich and Westhoughton for their unfailing courtesy and willing aid.
also
to the local Press, which contains a wealth of information about Rivington and District in the form of Excerpts.

The alternative, for those with the interest and time, would be to search the above sources for these excerpts themselves.

The obituaries alone provide more information about the inhabitants than is generally available in the Church Records, and some, but not all, are included.

Many of these extracts are contained in my Web Pages or in the 4 Books, which
I have published, containing many others from 1823 to 1959.
These can be purchased as separate books.
Further details can be obtained by clicking on PUBLICATIONS (menu on the left).
